For Hemma

Overview

For Hemma is a dance film that explores movement, breath, and physical expression through an intimate and highly tactile audiovisual language, and was later selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. For the sound design, I recorded the dancers' movements, breathing, breath-holding, and screams, using these recordings as raw material to create a layer of organic textures that intertwines with the original song by Surma. The challenge was to make the performers' physical presence audible, blending their breath, movement and vocal expressions with the music to create a more immersive and visceral experience.
